The Sorcerer and the White Snake, previously known as, It's Love and Madame White Snake is an upcoming film directed by Ching Siu-tung and starring Jet Li. It is based on the Chinese Legend of the White Snake. The film will be in 3-D and will be shown out of competition at the 68th Venice International Film Festival. At its most basic, the story tells of a young scholar who falls in love with a beautiful woman, unaware that she is a thousand year old white snake that has taken on human form. A monk intervenes in order to maintain nature's law and casts the white snake into a deep well at Leifeng Pagoda.
